British Airways has launched a bonus promotion to entice customers to sign up for a new affinity British Airways Visa Signature card from Chase. Customers will earn 25,000 bonus miles with their first purchase, plus another 25,000 miles if they spend $2,500 in the first 90 days after they receive the card.
That's a total of 50,000 miles, which is enough to qualify for one round-trip ticket to selected cities in Europe, or two round-trip domestic U.S. flights on partner carriers such as American or Alaska. You also can fly to Canada or Mexico for 25,000 miles.
Cardholders will earn 2.5 miles for every dollar spent on British Airways tickets and 1.25 miles per dollar spent on other purchases. Other perks include saving $50 per person on trans-Atlantic flights purchased by Dec. 31 for travel through Dec. 31, 2011. A family of four could save $200 with this benefit. Tickets must be purchased through a special online link to get the discount.
