The US giant will offer daily flights between the two cities from March 27 onwards. Delta will face stiff competition on the new route from UK carriers British Airways (BA) and Virgin Atlantic, as well as two homegrown rivals, American Airlines (AA) and US Airways.
The Atlanta-based airline applied for the rights to serve Boston from Heathrow earlier this year. It was part of a release of slots required following the US and EU governments approval of an alliance between BA and AA.
