American charter operator Air Plus will commence flights from the USA to Belgrade, Serbia which has no direct connection to American destinations. This will create another Transatlantic connection, which will be operated during the Summer, from June 17 to September 14.
Air Plus plans to use a Swift Air Boeing 767-200ER for the flight and, as the airliner is based in Phoenix, AZ the route will most probably be Phoenix - Chicago - Belgrade.
Air Plus is also trying to secure a license for operating in Croatia, which would enable the flight to land at Zagreb, Croatia. This would possibly increase the load with Croatian expats and basically recreate the route that former Yugoslav Airlines (JAT) used to fly, which was Belgrade - Zagreb - Chicago.
