First transatlantic flights to Croatia set to begin

People from the US will soon be able to travel on direct flights to Croatia, after it was reported that one route is just weeks from getting underway.

According to a report by Jutarnji List, cited by the Croatian Times, Swift Air is set to run its service from Chicago to Zagreb for the first time on June 3rd.

With a capacity of 235 people, the plane will ensure plenty of holidaymakers and businesspeople can spend time in the Croatian capital.

The flight will return several days later and is to become a weekly service to Croatia through to September.

It is also suggested by the news source that a route between Chicago and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is due to open, providing another link to the region.

Earlier this year, UK budget airline easyJet commenced a service from London Gatwick to Zagreb, increasing the options for British travellers seeking sun and culture.
