Travel Industry Gets Major Boost from Royal Wedding
New reports are now showing that a number of companies in the travel industry have been reporting great numbers thanks to the royal wedding that took place last Friday. This royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton helped a lot of companies make up for some lost profits. In fact, many airlines and hotels have been having problems staying out of the red thanks to a weak economy.
The wedding itself is said to have attracted tourists from all over the world. In fact, one airline, British Airways, had already announced that it would be flying more than 250,000 people into London. Shockingly that was from just one airline. When numbers are added up for all of the airlines that had flights into London, it is easy to see what a big boost this had for the travel industry.
It seems that a number of the busiest routes for airlines were from the United States. That’s, right. It seems, out of all of the other countries (besides Britain of course), America was the most excited about the royal wedding. Reports have shown that the six busiest routes were to London from New York, Boston, Washington, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
As far as short-haul flights go, Scotland lead the way in this category. However, they were closely followed by other places like Rome, Amsterdam, and Paris. This was, by far, the biggest boost to London’s tourism industry in a long time.
Another good thing was that most people did not just fly in for the wedding and then just leave. Most of the people who flew in from the United States stayed through the weekend to enjoy everything that London had to offer.
